Terms of service
Last updated May 24, 2026
Clear rules for Azimuth's free local desktop workspace, optional Horizon license, connected services, billing, refunds, and responsible use.
A one-time lifetime license unlocks premium desktop capabilities tied to your account.
Optional services such as Sync, Pulse, Scribe, and Cortex add hosted or usage-based features.
Horizon, first-time monthly services, and annual plans have limited refund windows.
Service scope
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Azimuth website, desktop software, downloads, account areas, APIs, licenses, billing tools, and connected services.
By using Azimuth, you agree to these terms and the Azimuth Privacy Policy. If you use Azimuth for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
Free desktop workspace
Azimuth's core desktop workspace is designed to run locally. You can download it, create projects, organize notes and files, and work offline without purchasing a paid plan.
Local-first does not mean every feature is local. If you choose connected features, account features, license activation, payments, sync, AI, transcription, email, or web-search services, those parts may communicate with Azimuth systems or third-party providers.
Accounts, licenses, and Horizon
Some features require an account so we can manage authentication, billing, licenses, device activation, support, and service entitlements. You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and protecting your credentials.
Horizon is a paid lifetime license tied to your account. It may unlock premium desktop capabilities such as bring-your-own API keys, expanded exports, longer feed history, beta access, priority support, and other paid features we identify as part of Horizon.
- You may use Azimuth for your own personal or internal business work.
- You may not resell, sublicense, share, transfer, or bypass a Horizon license unless Azimuth expressly allows it in writing.
- We may deactivate licenses or devices connected to fraud, chargebacks, abuse, unauthorized sharing, or violations of these terms.
Azimuth Connect services
Azimuth Connect is the umbrella for optional hosted and provider-backed services. These may include Sync for cross-device continuity, Pulse for project-aware search and email updates, Scribe for transcription, Cortex for model routing, and future connected features.
Connect services may have separate limits, quotas, credit balances, availability windows, usage policies, or subscription terms. Features can change as the service matures, and some capabilities may depend on third-party providers.
Payments, subscriptions, and usage
You agree to pay the fees, taxes, and charges shown at checkout or in the applicable account area. Payments may be handled by third-party processors such as Stripe, and their own terms may apply to payment processing.
Recurring services renew until canceled. Usage-based or credit-backed services may include AI requests, transcription minutes, web-search usage, email sends, storage, bandwidth, or similar provider-backed activity.
- Canceling a subscription stops future billing but does not automatically refund the current billing period.
- Credits, quotas, promotional balances, and included usage may expire, reset, or be limited as described in the product or account area.
- We may apply reasonable rate limits, spend controls, security checks, and abuse prevention rules.
Refund policy
Azimuth is designed to be straightforward: the core desktop workspace is free, and paid purchases are optional. Paid plans may add premium licensing, connected services, or usage-based features.
If Horizon is not a fit, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Once refunded, the Horizon license will be deactivated. Refunds are generally limited to one refund per customer or account.
Monthly services, including Sync, Pulse, Scribe, Cortex, and other paid Azimuth services, can be canceled at any time. First-time monthly service purchases may be eligible for a refund within 3 days of the first charge.
Annual subscriptions may be refunded within 14 days of the initial purchase or renewal. If usage-based services have already been consumed, the refund may be reduced by the value of that consumed usage. After 14 days, the plan remains active until the end of the paid term and is generally non-refundable.
- Consumed usage, including AI requests, transcription minutes, web-search usage, email sends, credits, or similar provider-backed activity, is generally non-refundable and may be deducted from any eligible refund, except in cases of billing error or confirmed Azimuth service failure.
- If we cannot reasonably resolve a confirmed paid-service issue on our side, we may provide a refund, account credit, or service extension.
- Email support@azimuthhq.app from the email address associated with your purchase to request a refund.
Your content, ownership, and privacy
You retain ownership of the notes, files, project materials, prompts, outputs, and other content you create or submit through Azimuth. Azimuth and its licensors retain ownership of the software, website, brand, documentation, infrastructure, and related technology.
When you use optional connected services, you grant Azimuth the limited rights needed to operate the service you requested, such as syncing records, routing a model request, processing a transcript, sending an email, or storing account and billing metadata.
- We do not sell your project content.
- Privacy details are described in the Azimuth Privacy Policy.
- Third-party services may process data under their own terms and policies where needed to provide a feature.
Acceptable use
You may use Azimuth only in compliance with applicable law and these terms. Do not misuse the product, interfere with systems, harm other users, or attempt to access services or data you are not authorized to use.
- Do not bypass license checks, authentication, rate limits, quotas, payment controls, or security protections.
- Do not use stolen payment methods, create abusive account farms, share licenses without permission, or exploit usage-based services.
- Do not transmit malware, illegal content, abusive traffic, or material that violates another party's rights.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Availability, beta features, and changes
Azimuth may offer beta, preview, experimental, or evolving features. These features may change, be interrupted, be usage-limited, or be discontinued, and they may not receive the same support as generally available features.
We aim to keep paid services reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Service availability can be affected by maintenance, infrastructure limits, third-party providers, security events, or circumstances outside our control.
Suspension and termination
These terms remain in effect while you use Azimuth. We may suspend or terminate accounts, licenses, subscriptions, credits, API access, or connected services if you violate these terms, fail to pay, create security or operational risk, or engage in fraud or abuse.
If a payment is disputed, reversed, charged back, or reported as unauthorized, the related Horizon license, subscription, credits, and connected services may be suspended or deactivated while the issue is reviewed.
Disclaimers and liability limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Azimuth is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Azimuth will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or business opportunities. Azimuth's aggregate liability for claims related to a service will not exceed the amount you paid for that service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Updates and contact
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect product, service, business, or legal changes. Continued use of Azimuth after updated terms become effective means you accept the revised terms.
Questions about these Terms of Service can be sent to info@azimuthhq.app. Refund requests should be sent to support@azimuthhq.app from the email address associated with your purchase.
